Fatin Tobia - This talk will explore the power of phone-based patient recalls and why they remain the most effective method for recalling and reactivating lapsed patients in optometry. While many practices rely on SMS or email reminders, the data consistently shows that a personalised phone call delivers significantly higher conversion rates. We’ll look at industry trends, discuss why voice contact builds trust and prompts action, and share practical insights into how practices can incorporate or optimise this approach to keep their appointment books full and their patient base engaged.

1pm - MiYOSMART Confidence through evidence

Evidence is key to providing clinically proven solutions at a critical time.

This session will delve into emerging clinical insights that are shaping the future of myopia management. We’ll examine the long-term impact of Miyosmart spectacle lenses, including key findings from the landmark 8-year follow-up study—the longest-running research in this category.

The session will also explore the potential benefits of combination treatment approaches and highlight the importance of early intervention—particularly in pre-myopic children. Together, these findings reflect a growing body of evidence supporting more proactive and personalised strategies in childhood myopia care.

Alex Rigby - What is Individual Visual Sensitivity? What can we do to optimise a lens to take it into account we now have the next evolution of the B.I.G Vision Portfolio. A lens that not only takes into account the Biometry of the eye but also a patients individual visual sensitivity.

Jason Holland - Dry Eye can be a challenging condition to treat and can often take up a lot of chair time.  In this session we will learn about techniques and treatments that will position your practice above the competition and also allow the management of Dry Eye to become profitable.

Harry Bates - Australian Rally Champion Harry Bates discusses a variety of factors in both professional and everyday driving that affect performance and safety. Harry speaks on his experience with Shamir Driver Intelligence, and how such lens technology can fit the various needs of consumers.

3pm Myopia and ZEISS clinical findings 

Nicole Liu - In my upcoming talk, I will share insights from ARVO 2025, where ZEISS Vision Care presented four posters and two talks. These presentations highlighted recent findings from two ongoing multicenter clinical trials assessing the efficacy of ZEISS MyoCare lenses in slowing myopia progression across Asia and Europe. Additionally, the results included analyses of fast progressors, subjective experiences, and comparisons between Asian and European eyes. I will also discuss a virtual control model designed to address the ethical challenges in myopia randomised controlled clinical trials, offering an alternative to traditional single vision control groups.

2:30pm From Vision to Value: The Hidden Financial Impact of Eye Hygiene

Martin Robinson - Ignoring the ocular surface of your patients can negatively hurt your company's bottom line. Martin will share his experiences with prescribing and selling ocular surface products. This has led to a higher percentage of sales in clinic as well as a higher percentage of repeat sales. It has also led to a decrease in Contact lens drop out and reduced Contact lens compilations. 

3pm They don’t care how much you know (until they know how much you care!)

Emma Gillies - As experts in our profession, it can be easy to jump into ’solution mode’ and fix our patients problems with our in-depth knowledge, but how often do we “clearly” explain solutions to patients, yet still get asked questions about them at the end? It might be because we are asking the right questions but in the wrong order. This session will dive into patient buying habits and building an elegant question flow to work with our patients, test the water to ensure they are on the same page as us and increase the likelihood of them agreeing to our professional recommendation.
